Crazy Thinking

I was at a nearby supermarket the other day. Shopping for food is one of my most exciting thing to do but not for hubby. It never excites hubby... because he doesn't want to pay all  the goodies I brought to the counter. I am the money spender while hubby is the keeper (what a match ey! :).

But actually I have this weird feeling that... what if the cashier would make a mistake and enter the price twice (because I sometimes saw them having trouble with the machine) and made me pay more than what I get? So what I do is attentively watched them as they scan the code with the  barcode scanner. This machine really helps the queue get smaller and makes the payment process quick and easy.

Still Up!

It's two minutes before twelve in the morning but still up probably because of too much coffee intake today. Hubby is kind of worried about me actually, but thank God I still feel good though I  have drunk too much caffeine. And since I cannot bring myself to sleep I'm now writing this post.

As I think of things to post in here, a printer comes to my mind and I can't believe that we have one laptop and a toshiba notebook and yet we don't have any printer to print documents. And what we usually do is do it in the office or  asked friends to print it for us. So now I am thinking why don't we get one, something that has a hydraulic cartridge maybe or just something simple and cheap. I don't know all actually and I am undecided too but all I know now is that we should have to get one specially that we have these gadgets.

Happy to Serve

Hubby and I visited a friend who in spite of his physical hindrances manage to still serve the Lord.  Some years ago he was diagnosed with diabetes but just few months ago he was rushed to the hospital and was declared dead for several minutes, but God did a miracle and revived him. He is now still alive a kicken' and in fact very enthusiastic to serve the Lord who give him another chance to live.

Since he learned that we live close to them, he insisted that we should visit their place every now and then. He also encourages us to help serve in the church because they really need workers. So since hubby and I are both trained to do and lead church ministries we somehow agreed to support them, and we are excited to do the thing.

So we went home happy and excited for this new opportunity to serve HIM.
Hubby was thinking out loud and told me this; "mahal, ganito talaga tayo anu?, excited sa mga trabahong walang sweldo!" Of course I laughed out loud.

God knows our needs and I am hundred percent sure that He will provide!

Bed Bugs

I was helping a friend kill bedbugs on their beds and floors. I was interested in doing so because I got my share of feeding them unintentional (what I mean is: they bit me too, and it was not a good one), so I'm taking my revenge.  We actually used a kerosene to kill it, others died but the rest just try to play dead when we sprayed the chemical and some just simply hid themselves.

So.. I got a researched about bedbugs and  how to get rid of them:

what is bedbug(s):
Cimicidae or bed bugs (sometimes bedbugs), are small parasitic insects. The most common type is Cimex lectularius.[2] The term usually refers to species that prefer to feed on human blood. All insects in this family live by feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals. source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bed_bug

life span of a bedbug:
Finding bed bugs in your home has nothing to do with poor hygiene! It takes only one bed bug to hitch a ride on your clothing (furniture, suitcase, etc) and infest your residence. What's worse is that they can live up to one year without drinking a drop of your blood. Feeding takes about 10 to 15 minutes for adults and less for the nymphs; they feed about every three days. Depending on the conditions, bed bug nymphs can survive for months without feeding. source:http://www.badbedbugs.com/

no-chemical treatment:

  • Vacuuming. A thorough vacuuming of cracks and crevices can physically remove bedbugs from an area. But vacuum cleaners can't reach all hiding places.
  • Hot water. Washing clothes and other items in water at least 120 F (49 C) can kill bedbugs.
  • Clothes dryer. Placing wet or dry items in a clothes dryer set at medium to high heat for 20 minutes will kill bedbugs and their eggs.
  • Enclosed vehicle. If it's summer, you can bag up infested items and leave them in a car parked in the sun with the windows rolled up for a day. The target temperature is at least 120 F (49 C).
  • Freezing. Bedbugs are also vulnerable to temperatures below 32 F (0 C) but you'd need to leave the items outdoors or in the freezer for several days. source:http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/bedbugs/DS00663/DSECTION=treatments-and-drugs

for a chemical treat please inquire the nearest pest control in your area.

...something some people enjoys!

Hubby and I went to a mall nearby our house (well, not really near near but it's the closest to us so far). As we stroll around a shop caught my attention and I was very surprise to see this kind here the Phils. I saw a small shop that sells top brand cigars in electronic form. Goodness, so high-tech. I never imagine that someone would indeed dare to invent a thing like that.

Well, as for me I really don't enjoy smoking and did not dare to try too. But I guess some people enjoy this much as I enjoy coffee.

...is here

..here at our church mission center and it seems that I'll be stuck in here(in  a positive and not so positive way) for several days. I actually  planed this stay, but not with these feelings, I have weird feelings over a lot of things and people (a feeling that I don't wanna say it in here).   I love it here truly and I love chatting with friends in here. But this place without other people now seems boring, I probably just used of coming and seeing here with loads of people.

In fairness, I have lived here before for eight years because I was then a full-time worker of the church. I only moved when I got married and decided to go full-time in a missions organization. This place was like a training  ground for me and my colleagues. I was trained to put my trust and faith in God and in HIM alone. I praise God for He brought me here and I become part of this family.

Samsung Cellphone: a precious gift

Hubby bought me a samsung cellphone as a gift for my birthday last month. I was actually surprise when we stop at the Samsung booth when we were at the mall because I did not expect that he would buy me one that early. I was so happy when I got my new cellphone and honestly I still am in love with it.

I like samsung not only because of its good and reliable features but also because when it got broken or its  battery breaks, its easier to fix it. It's not that I know how to though, what mean is the samsung phone batteries is easy to get through their service centers.

Lord of the Rings: a trilogy film that I enjoyed so much

Lord of the Rings trilogy film is written by J.R.R. Tolkien who is a close friend to a Christian author C.S Lewis author another fantasy epic "Narnia". I love both of these trilogy films not only because of its best cinematography effects but also because of the moral lessons it gives to the viewer.

I have watched Lord of the rings for over five times already but it doesn't lost the charm on me, I'm still in love with it. I love the characters as well, all of them in fact excluding the dorkies (what I mean the ugly's/enemies)  of course. I love the archers specially Legolas and Gimli. I like how their character portrays that though they both don't like each other at first but they helped each other during the fight.

How I wish I could learn how to do archer and could also own some archery equipment  because as I noticed I only see archers on movies and never did met a real one. Also I would definitely love to see Legolas with his bow and arrow.

Calories, Cholesterol, Trans fat and me

My friend who is our office secretary was a plus size before. She's been plus size for a long long time until she met some physically fit  friends and convinced her to go on diet and workout. Now she's medium size and is our gym instructor and our nutritionist. She's the reason why I was inspired to do some research about these thing.

What is Calories?- is the amount of energy in food or drink that we intake. Food energy is expressed as food calories and is normally used in nutritional context. The more we ate means the more energy or calories we
absorbed.
To lessen the calories in our body, a person should burn it through physical activities.

In general, the average calorie requirement per day ranges between 1500 and 2000.

Eating 500 calories more a day (in excess of the total calorie requirement) will make a person gain one pound in a week, and, conversely, eating 500 calories less than the TCR per day will reduce one pound from the person’s body weight in a week.

The average calories burned in 30-minute of any of these activities are as follows: sleeping, 35; typing on computer, 50; ironing, 63; cooking, 86; light housework, 115; mopping floor, 119; shopping, 102; fishing, 119; climbing hills (no load), 232; walking slowly, 106; walking briskly, 120; running slowly, 280; running fast, 384; jogging, 215; cycling, 123; swimming, 311; ballroom dancing, 98; aerobic dancing, 198; volleyball, 96; football, 253; basketball, 265; golf, 140; tennis, 209; and, badminton, 186. Foreplay in sex for 15 minutes, burns about 22.5 calories and actual sexual intercourse for 15 minutes, 67.5 calories (a total of only 90 calories for the entire activity, believe it or not!). -inspired from:
http://globalnation.inquirer.net/cebudailynews/opinion/view/20081222-179420/Calories-in-Filipino-foods

What is Cholesterol?-is a type of lipid and also a waxy substance produce by the liver. It can be found in certain foods specially with foods that came from animal sources. There are actually two ypes of cholesterol: HDL (high-density lipoproteins) which is also called as "good cholesterol and LDL (low-density lipoproteins) which is also called as "bad cholesterol.
Too much cholesterol in the body could mean a serious health problems.

What is Trans Fat?- is commonly known as unsaturated fats. It could possibly monounsaturated or polyunsaturated but never saturated.  Trans fat is also known as "trans-fatty acids". Too much trans fat in our  body could also lead to definite health disorder.

Tired (:l

Went to the office today with just the meeting in mind; so I wear jeans and t-shirts and did not bring any extra shirt. To my dismay when I got there, I saw my team leader with just a working short on and a t-shirt (normally he wears jeans in our meetings). Seeing him that way means work... lots of work.

So today: I got dirty, sweaty, stinky and tired. (((:::l
sooo tired!

Would like to be in these places!

As others are busily doing stuff upstairs, I also am busy doing stuff in here. Maybe you may it's unfair but I say it's fair because as you may know what they are doing is all personal. They are setting up their tables and computers, while mine are all set.

So, I think it's fair that even what I did is totally mine. :))))
