Fun Times...

Here in our house we have a lot of entertainment sort of gadget. But the most that entertains me is the DVD because we used it a lot as a group. I enjoyed watching with friends. But hubby and the boys would look after the xbox 360 first more than anything. They use it even if their alone or I'd rather say that they enjoy it even more when no one plays with them. lol! well, we only have one joy stick, reason why if someone is playing the other one means watching.
It's funny though that when our xbox broke the boys were all sad while my friend and I were jsut smiling.

Bugging Mirrors

My friends mom came last year for a month vacation/work. Hubby and i helped her finds place or hotel for her stay. Every time we dropped her at her hotel the guards would always inspect our van no matter how many times during the day we visit the hotel. They would use this convex mirrors to inspect the under part of the vehicle. I never knew what was it before and how important it is during inspection. I was so naive because what the guards does annoys me a lot until such time when I came to this realization that I should be thankful to them since they are doing their job well.
Ignorance is not good!

Ice cream for the soul

Last week, I took my grand-children to a restaurant.

My six-year-old grand-son asked if he could say grace.

As we bowed our heads he said, "God is good, God is great. Thank you for the food, and I would even thank you more if Nana gets us ice cream for dessert. And liberty and justice for all! Amen!"

Along with the laughter from the other customers nearby, I heard a woman remark, "That's what's wrong with this country. Kids today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for ice cream! Why, I never!"

Hearing this, my grand-son burst into tears and asked me, "Did I do it wrong? Is God mad at me?"

As I held him and assured him that he had done a terrific job, and God was certainly not mad at him, an elderly gentleman approached the table.

He winked at my grand-son and said, "I happen to know that God thought that was a great prayer."

"Really?" my grand-son asked.

"Cross my heart," the man replied.

Then, in a theatrical whisper, he added (indicating the woman whose remark had started this whole thing), "Too bad she never asks God for ice cream. A little ice cream is good for the soul sometimes."

Naturally, I bought my grand-children ice cream at the end of the meal. My grand-son stared at his for a moment, and then did something I will remember the rest of my life.

He picked up his sundae and, without a word, walked over and placed it in front of the woman. With a big smile he told her, "Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul sometimes; and my soul is good already."
The End

I love this story!
Got this from a friend and thought of sharing this with you.
Sometimes, we all need some ice cream.

Need some body pampering

After weeks of busyness hubby and I just need a complete pampering, I mean body pampering. We need some massage just don't know when though since it's quite expensive here. But anyways it's worth it though after you feel light about your body.
My friend is masseur though, she took a 4 years course about it and now a professional. Probably if I had to give her a gift I might get her a massage table carry case for I know it would of great benefit with her.
But since we live far away from each other that made me an excuse of that giving her a present for her graduation. lol!
I wished though that she's here so that I she could do body massage on me.

Cambodia Mission Trip

I am sometimes mixed emotion because of the many things that we are supposed have done our mission trip. But   until today we are not that prepared yet.
As for myself and hubby, we were given a great responsibility to lead the sports ministry and hygiene ministry that we are going to do there. Of course being in-charge means a lot of things to do and more responsibilities. I actually don't know where to start. Our team leader asked us how far we've gone with our preparations.  We actually has no funds for it, we are fundraising for it part individually and part as a team. Hubby would raise funds for the sports fest  and i must raise funds for the hygiene and raise funds also for our personal contribution (means: for accommodation, airfare and food). sigh, I don't actually know where to get this, all I know is I'm looking forward to be blessed to be a blessing!
please pray for us, we need to raise $1000.00/hygiene and sports, plus another $1000.00/personal.
Fund raising is not my style or as other people say "forte".
So help me God!

Team retreat on Sunday

My team leader organized an annual team plus partners retreat this coming Sunday in Halang Laguna for us. We are all excited for this overnight team retreat specially that our couple friend from Colorado, USA who visited us for a week are joining with us, we have a feeling that it would be a good night. It's gonna be fun... fun... fun... !
Well, with that, I was also assigned for breakfast and lunch (meaning I have to prepare for that). I'm done with my menu actually and soon will be off for marketing. Part of my menu though for lunch is more on grilling, so I'm hoping there will be an outdoor electric grills for us to use or else it's gonna be a chaos for me.:)
I am excited to cook, swim in the hot spring pool and  eat the food as well. wooohooo!

Will we be the next?...

A friend of mine got her Canadian Visa  yesterday. Hubby and I looked at each other as we were told... asking one another in silence... will we be the next... we'll we hope so. So submitted the same documents just at different time. She submitted hers five days after ours. Hubby and I are in difficult situation this time because of the waiting time thing. We don't depend on our documents... we put our faith in the Lord. "He who begun a good work in me will be faithful to to complete it."

Talking about Cameras!

These days... hubby and I been arguing about our digital camera. He wanted to sell it and buy a new one, but i don't want to because it was a gift from a dear  couple friend. What makes hubby wants to sell it because he doesn't like buying the triple A battery each time we will use it, and the rechargeable battery is also expensive and don't last long.
We are actually thinking of buying a digital camera but definitely not like the one that we own at the moment. It bugs me I need some pictures for my blog and can't find a new one. Part of me would like to blame hubby to the max and quarrel him big time :( but just ca't do it too because hubby can't do anything at the moment because even if he would like to have a new one. we don't have the money yet and if also we will buy a new battery it's only a waste of money. sigh.
Another option for us of having is a digital camcorder and two of my teammates has it. I might see the digital camcorder reviews though to see if I would consider it.

Christmas in August?

Honestly peeps last month I added Christmas songs to my list of favorites songs on my groveshark account. And was singing with it loud enough that my officemates told me that it's still early to play Christmas songs. lol! But, I just can't help it, because I'm excited for Christmas. I even wished its December now, so that i could set up Christmas tress and put some led xmas lights, ooh lights just excites me in general. I love staring at it  and also Christmas lights lighten up my spirits.
Ten years ago, I was asked by my pastor at church to decorate our missionary house. So I bought a lot of lights and arrange it nicely outside the house. Every six o'clock at night I personally lit it up and at seven when all is dark, I would sit outside grab a chair and a soda. The memories of it still very clear in my mind. Christmas lights reminds me of how colorful my life is because of Jesus! :)

Vacay In Mind

Just days ago a couple friend of ours arrived from a sweet vacation in Boracay, Philippines. Looking at their pictures made me want to go for a vacation too.
Hubby and I was discussing about it last night (I mean the where, when and how) because we were planning to do a cheap vacation too. Hopefully next year will be able  to get maybe not a Branson vacation package since were out of their package area, but definitely a cheap package too. We can't afford a grand one since our budget is really tight but still we will make it grand our way. Anyways a fancy vacation is not just about the beautiful expensive places, its also about whom you be with and how you will make things beautiful.

Reality Bites

Some people just don't allow other people to rest in peace (;), what I mean is when someone fails yesterday and comeback to the Lord today (I mean have repented today and moving on.) People will accept them today also, try to give them good advices and trying to helped this person to move on. But, when the person has moved on already people tried their very hard too to bring them back to their past. So  sad that we are like that as always, we try to help people and try to break them too.
But as for us sinners: this is our consequence and it hurts and the bites so deep that it almost always break us apart once again. This is reality... everyone falls in this mistake.. no one is perfect. Only GOD is!

Slideshow for us!

Before the Stopsley Baptist Church youth team arrived hubby and I been contemplating on whether to use a power point presentation for their orientation. So we never really agreed on using anything until the day came and I was surprised that hubby was so furious at me because I did not brought our laptop, it was then that I realized that he needed the slideshow that we use the previous orientation for foreign missionaries.
It was quite frustrating and upsetting both for my part and his but still thankful that we able to made it even though we did not use any visual aid. But in the other hand it would be brilliant if we had it.

Mercy Ministry

Today will be our last day here at I.T. Tender Ministry of  Youth Mobilization under International Teams Philippines Missions Organization. We were here for four days with some Christian youth missionaries  for Luton, England.
It broke my heart I saw the kids and their families living in some slum area here in Sucat and Alabang Philippines. But my heart was more broken when I saw the youth missionaries who were crying in empathy to our poor children living in such place. They played with the children, taught them some song and feed them in spite of the pouring rain and total warmness (i mean total hotness and heavy rain after).
These youth are not really professional missionaries, they are just ordinary youth from a Stopsley Baptist Church, who has passion for poor Filipino children.
Seeing those children broke their heart and has changed their views in life. I do believe that their life will never be the same again in a good way after this mission trip.
I praise God that I have the opportunity to serve God along with these beautiful young people even with just a short period of time. To sum up, serving Jesus is totally awesome!

House stuff

Hubby and I talked a lot about what we should do if the Lord would give us a new house. We really need of an owned or loaned house. We don't want to rent forever, because we knew that soon will get old and when times comes that we indeed are, we don't want to worries ourselves with the rentals.
Actually we've been planning even now what to do or how would our look. We already went to some store and looked for possible stuff to put in our house. And of course as the woman in the house I'm the one who wants to buy a lot of stuff. I am very particular on what kind of shower materials for the shower and sinks for the kitchen should we put in and what kind of couches should we buy for the living room. I want my house to be simple but clean. So even now hubby and I knows what to buy when time comes our dream will be granted because we've been scouting around for it :).
